beta gamma kappa phi epsilon theta- seems he's talking about joining a sorority or a fraternity, they're usually named after letters of the Greek alphabet or a combo of- hope that helps
That is helpful thanks J (who's 'J'?), but I'm still not sure of sorority or fraternity - must be more Americanisms....
